Great reading here. I love cooking with cast iron, and I always wondered if cleaning it with soap would hurt the seasoning. (Spoiler: It won't!)

    Great article and agree with every point. Especially on the 'even heat' distribution portion. I have only bought and use almost daily one Lodge skillet. The rest I have bought at antiques stores for the same reasons noted in this article. One way to clean with out soap (which is what I use most of the time) is to use salt. I will pull up the technique.
