    Some container tilting to allow a drainage option (with valves) out of the ends of the table might be helpful.

      That is a great idea. I think if the planters were just loosely sitting on the wood, then it would be simple enough to just dump the water. But if they were anchored, then it would definitely need a drain of some sort.

    This has been on mu bucket list for some time. I need a new patio table and have a similar design in mind but I am not sure I can pull it off in my garage. In addition to the cooler, I want to add a raised, removable metal rack that can hold food serving dishes as well. That way, guests can help themselves to a buffet of sorts while still being able to access beverages. Well, in theory anyway.
