Where I'm from, a proper gentleman doesn't leave the house without a firearm.
Nice. Im considering a pump action shotgun. I think the "racking" noise should scare off any potential intruders, if not the buckshot will surely make them think twice about ever stepping foot in my neighborhood again. I am of the same cloth as BenW. A true gentleman is a man who understands (among other things) that it his, and only his, responsibility to protect himself and his loved ones.
BrianMC- I am also putting together an ideal home-defense gun. I have a couple of pistols, but would like a pump action shotgun for the close quarter, home defense.
Owning firearms, and responsibly handling and caring for them, is more than gentlemanly, it is an American tradition.
